窓が開けてあります。

Syntax:          -te form compound verb. Uses intransitive verbs.

Usage:           Shows a state that results from a deliberate action.

Even though the verb is transitive, が not を is used because the particle agrees with the final ある, not the -te form before it.

Example:

  • まどが開けてあります。

  1. Hi there just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.

    1. Thanks a lot! Yes, I’ve just migrated the site onto a new server – things should be running smoother in the first week of January.

  2. Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
