This lesson shows you how to use the special word よう to show purpose, effort or change.
A plain form adjective or verb. or a noun + の followed by the na-adjective よう functions as a な adjective meaning “similar to what is described by the predicate”.
とか functions similarly to や (and) in that it joins examples to form a non-exclusive list. The difference is that とか is colloquial and would not normally be seen in written text. やきそばとか、たこやきとか食べた。I ate yakisoba and takoyaki and stuff.
